SC confirms the validity of the Law of the Madrasah Service Commission of West Bengal
NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court confirmed on Monday 2008, paving the way for the appointment of teachers in madrasas in the state.
The higher court also confirmed the appointment of teachers by commission constituted under the Law.
A bank of judges Arun Mishra and UU Lalit set aside a verdict from the Calcutta High Court that had declared the legislation unconstitutional and said the appointments made by the Madrassa management committees so far will also remain valid in the general interest.
He confirmed the constitutional validity of the Law of the Service Commission of the Madrasa of West Bengal, 2008, which ordered that the appointment of teachers in the madrassas be decided by a commission.
