At least 18 people were injured and admitted to the Institute of Medical Sciences of All India (AIIMS). The president of the JNU Student Union, Aishe Ghosh, suffered a head injury.
The JNUSU controlled by the left and the ABVP blamed each other for the violence that continued for almost two hours.
