Two lawyers who stole the police gun during the Tis Hazari confrontation identified: Delhi Police

NEW DELHI: He has identified two lawyers who allegedly stole a police officer's gun during a clash between lawyers and police officers at the Tis Hazari judicial complex, but no action can be taken against them due to instructions from the higher court, they said Sunday officials.

Crime Branch is investigating the confrontation that occurred on November 2 in which 21 policemen and several lawyers were injured, while 17 vehicles were destroyed.

In the CCTV images of the incident that took place around 4.10 pm, Agent Amit, who was published as the operator of the then deputy commissioner of additional police (North), is seen as abused and robbed of his 9 mm government pistol . officials said.

It is said that two defenders take their gun, they said.

Both lawyers have been identified, said a senior police official who requested anonymity.

We have identified the two lawyers who were involved in the robbery of the police gun during the confrontation. However, we cannot take any action against them as a judicial investigation is being carried out and the higher court has said that coercive measures should not be taken against lawyers. he said.

After the incident, the Delhi High Court ordered a judicial investigation by one of its retired judges, S P Garg, about the crash.

Following the court's instructions, special commissioner Sanjay Singh and additional DCP Harendra Singh were transferred during the investigation.

The higher court also made it clear that it would not be taken against any lawyer.

A (SIT) was formed by the Delhi police to investigate the confrontation and investigate the seven FIRs that were filed in connection with the incident in the relevant sections, including charges of attempted murder.

An assistant assistant inspector was suspended and another police officer was transferred for alleged participation in the confrontation.
