Anahat Singh reaches the final of the British Junior Open

BIRMINGHAM: India Anahat Singh reached the final in the category of girls sub-13 in the prestigious British Junior Open hitting egyptian Janna Galal on Sunday.

Un indio más podría llegar a la final aquí y ese es Veer Chotrani en la categoría sub-19 con su semifinal celebrada más tarde on Sunday.

The morning session belonged to Anahat after her exhausting semifinal against the second seed Janna. The Indian lost the first game just to start a fight that finally led the game to a dazzling fifth game.

The excitement reached a crescendo in the decisive with Janna running to a 7-1 lead and then Anahat caught up and saved four match balls.

Janna faced well and, in turn, found herself in three match ball situations. Anahat finally won 7-11, 11-7, 13-11, 5-11, 17-15. Now he faces another Egyptian, the best seed Amina Orfi, in the title round.

Absolutely delighted with Anahat reaching the final. His transition from U-11 to U-13 has been extraordinary. We are very proud of his achievement, said SRFI Secretary General Cyrus Poncha.
