Kejriwal wasting public money on ads, cheating people: Amit Shah
NEW DELHI: Accusing the Prime Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal of wasting public money on advertisements and cheating people, Union Interior Minister Amit Shah sought to know on Sunday if he has completed any work in the past five years.
He claimed that Kejriwal came to power in Delhi five years ago by cheating people with a series of promises.
When addressing party workers in Delhi, Shah claimed that Kejriwal was wasting public money on advertisements and said that someone can cheat people once, but not all the time.
He exuded confidence that the BJP will come to power in Delhi under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi . The BJP has been out of power in Delhi since 1998.
When asked if the AAP government has completed any work during his tenure, the president of BJP listed the work done by the Center for Delhi in the last five years.
He also accused Kejriwal of favoring the tukde tukde gang by not punishing the prosecution of Kanhaiya Kumar, the former president of the Student Union of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNUSU), in the case of JNU sedition.
Urging party workers to undertake a door-to-door campaign to carry the BJP's message to the people, Shah said he will participate in the campaign in the national capital.
Delhi will go to the polls in the coming weeks.
