James Anderson beats R Ashwin, Ian Botham to guide the 28th course of five wicket in Tests

CAPE CITY: Dominican James Anderson on Sunday beat Sunday Ravichandran Ashwin & Ian Botham to record his 28th tour of five wicket in the longest format of the game.

Anderson accomplished the feat on the third day of the second Test against South Africa in Newlands in Cape Town.

Ashwin & Botham have taken 27 five-wicket hauls in the longest format.

Anderson has now moved to eighth place on the list by having the majority of the five wicket sets in Test cricket.

The former Sri Lankan spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan, has the highest number of fifteen in the Tests, as he has accomplished the feat 67 times in 133 games.

Anil Kumble of India is in fourth place with 35 sets of five wicket in 132 games.

Anderson dismissed Faf du Plessis (1), Dwaine Pretorius (4), Keshav Maharaj (8), Kagiso Rabada (0), & Anrich Nortje (4) in the first innings against South Africa.
