BJP and Aasu discuss migrants in Assam

GUWAHATI: On a day when BJP national labor president JP Nadda held a mega demonstration in Guwahati in support of the Citizenship Law (Amendment), the Assam Student Union (Aasu) and its allied organizations responded by organizing a massive demonstration of strength in Neherubali on Saturday.

At the Guwahati demonstration, organized on the eve of the launch of the CAA-2019 Jan Jagaran Abhiyan of BJP, Nadda said that CAA did not allow any new influx and only granted citizenship to the persecuted migrants, who had already come and settled in the country. .

We should understand that, through this Law, Modiji grants citizenship only to those persecuted for religious reasons and who have come here before December 31, 2014.

At the Aasu demonstration, his senior advisor Samujjal Bhattacharyya said: “We are against granting citizenship to illegal Hindu Bangladeshi and illegal Muslim Bangladeshi. In Assam, there is no place for communalism and fundamentalism. ” He warned CM Sarbananda Sonowal against not paying attention to indigenous peoples, who want protection against illegal immigrants.
