Thousands participate in protest against CAA in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Thousands of people in the city participated in a protest on Saturday against the Citizenship Law (Amendment), the National Registry of Citizens () and the National Population Registry ( NPR ).
On the busy road from Masab Tank to Dharna Chowk, protesters traveled in cars, two-wheelers and, on foot, raised slogans, even against him.
Some of them held national flags in their hands and also placards that read 'No CAA, No NRC and' Boycott CAA, NPR&NRC '.
Some protesters distributed pamphlets that said the CAA discriminated against Muslims.
The protest, organized by a Joint Action Committee of organizations opposed to the CAA and others, was peaceful and a large number of people participated in it, police said.
The protest was attended by thousands of people, as it was the first to be allowed by the police outside an indoor premises.
The Union Muslim Action Committee, also comprising AIMIM, has been organizing protest meetings against the CAA, NRC and NPR at various places in.
