NASHIK: Several organizations celebrated the 189th anniversary of the birth in the city. She was born on January 3, 1831 in Naigaon, Satara. She was a social reformer, educator and poet. She is also considered the first Indian teacher and principal.

Arti Singh, District Police Superintendent (DSP), and his team visited three universities in rural areas under their Safe Cyber Women program to meet students about cybercrime.
“With the advancement of technology, crimes have also increased. The number of crimes related to computers, ATMs, mobile phones and social networks increases day by day. Women should be careful when giving personal information on social networks, ”said Arti Singh at the Brahmavalley Engineering and Research Center, Trimbakeshwar.
The cyber branch is taking multiple measures to address such criminal activities and the harassment, threats and physical abuse of women, Singh added. His team also visited MVP Commerce and Science College in Trimbakeshwar.
Launch of Kamla Bhasin's book: Strivadi Tattvachintak on the anniversary of the birth of Savitribai Phule on YCMOU
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule on Friday, Yashvantrao Chavan Open University (YCMOU) organized a program to launch the book edited by Praveen Ghodeswar called Kamala Bhasin: Strivadi Tattvachintak (Kamala Bhasin: Feminist Philosopher).
“The book is a compilation of eight articles (including the editorial) about Kamala Bhasin and five of his various books. The articles narrate Bhasin's contribution as a philosopher, researcher and feminist activist who works throughout South Asia. They also discuss her personality, work style and her as a person, ”Praveen Ghodeswar told TOI.
The book is published by the president of Savitribai Phule of YCMOU. E Vayunandan, vice chancellor of YCMOU launched the book on the occasion. The university team had also invited Pratibha Jadhav, a renowned speaker, to address the meeting on the revolutionary Savitribai Phule.

Several universities in the city celebrated the anniversary of the birth of Savitribai Phule. VN Naik Arts, Commerce and Science College, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, MVP Arts and Commerce College Soygaon, SMRK College and Panchavati College conducted several programs in which teachers, non-teaching staff and students participated in the programs.
