Mamata Banerjee should stop provoking people: Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

NEW DELHI: The Minister of Minority Affairs Affairs on Saturday criticized the Prime Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee for targeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Pakistan's comment saying: she should stop provoking people and should focus on protecting her own house.

It should stop provoking people and must make efforts to achieve peace in the state. The anti-national forces in West Bengal have made the life of the common man difficult. Simply attacking the Prime Minister will not help her. You should first focus on protecting your own home, the Union minister said while speaking with ANI in New Delhi.

The West Bengal chief minister had led a protest march against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and National Register of Citizens (NRC) here and targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi by stating that he always talks about Pakistan.

I am fighting the National Registry of Citizens and the Citizenship Law (Amendment). Join me. I request that all people come forward to save our democracy , Mamata had said.

He (Modi) is the prime minister of India, but he always talks about Pakistan. Why? We are Indians and we will definitely discuss our national problems, said CM Banerjee. ''

The Citizenship Law (Amendment), of 2019, seeks to grant citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, parsis, Buddhists and Christians fleeing the religious persecution of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh and who arrived in India on December 31 from 2014 or earlier.
