ADG hits overreach in the middle of a row about Noida cops landing in Meerut
MEERUT: Additional General Director (ADG) (Meerut Zone) Prashant Kumar said Friday that appropriate measures will be taken against people who have tried to invade power and the law.
Referring to a controversy that involved a group of Noida police officers who arrived at Meerut in civvies and attempted to arrest a TOI journalist on Thursday, Inspector General (rank) Alok Singh said he had sought an explanation from Noida's SSP about the incident.
“I asked Meerut SSP to investigate the complaint. I also looked for an explanation of why a police team was sent to Meerut, ”said Singh.
ADG Prashant Kumar said: “At the moment we were informed about it, immediate action was guaranteed. I have received a complaint about it. It will be thoroughly investigated and appropriate measures will be taken.
Meanwhile, the investigation has already begun in him, which Krishna called transformed and part of a larger conspiracy to defame him. A case was registered against 20 unidentified people at the Noida Sector 20 police station and the investigation was transferred to Hapur for a fair investigation.
Krishna, who had addressed a press conference on the subject on Wednesday night, warned against the transmission of the videos and said that anyone who does so with bad intentions will be reserved. It is my appeal that criminal activity should not be supported in that way ... Everyone has the right to privacy. How can a transformed video be produced? ”Said the SSP.
