Priyanka Gandhi sending new year cards with preamble printed to people in UP

LUCKNOW: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is sending new year greeting cards to thousands of people with the Preamble to the Constitution printed on them, party sources said Friday.

The greeting cards, signed by the Secretary General of Congress, are sent to intellectuals, writers, poets, journalists and social workers, as well as to the leaders and officials of their own party, they added.

The sources said that the state unit of Congress is helping in this massive task and facilitating the delivery of greeting cards to remind people of their responsibility to save the Constitution.

Priyanka Gandhi, who has lately been active in the state, visiting it frequently, was given the position of the Congress national general secretary just before the Lok Sabha Surveys conducted in April-May last year.

The Congress party, especially Gandhi, has been at the forefront against the Citizenship (Amendment) Law (CAA). She has read the Preamble to the Constitution on several platforms.

The president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, Ajay Kumar Lallu, claimed that the Constitution was under attack Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the country.

This is an effort by Priyankaji to sensitize people about the basic character of the Constitution, he said.
