The cold wave persists in Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA: It persisted on Friday with several tourist attractions in the state shaking at freezing temperatures, the weather department said.

The meteorologist has forecast snow, rain in some places in the middle, low and high hills of the state and thunderstorms in the plains from January 6 to 8.

The minimum temperatures were one or two notches below normal, the weather department said.

Kufri, Manali, Keylong and Kalpa trembled at freezing temperatures.

Keylong recorded the lowest temperature in the state at minus 13 degrees Celsius.

Kalpa in the Kinnaur district recorded a minimum of minus 2.4 degrees Celsius, while Manali, Kufri and Bhuntar shivered at minus 3, minus 2.8 and minus 0.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The minimum temperature in Shimla and Dalhousie had 1.1 and 1.7 degrees Celsius respectively, he added.

Maximum temperatures increased some notches on Friday. The highest temperature was recorded at Una at 21.6 degrees Celsius, he added.
