Chhattisgarh: the policeman commits suicide at the police station
JASHPUR: A 44-year-old police officer allegedly killed himself at a police station on Friday, police said.
He was found hanging from the ceiling in his headquarters at the facility on Friday afternoon, said Jashpur Police Superintendent Shankar Lal Baghel.
Bek had shown up at his workplace around 9.30 in the morning and was later found dead by his colleagues, he said, adding that no suicide note had been recovered from the facility.
The deceased's body has been sent for an autopsy, Baghel said, adding that a case based on preliminary information has been registered.
Bek was recently transferred to Bagicha from the city of Jashpur, he said.
