Governments must ensure that everyone has access to medical care: Pope
VATICAN CITY: asked governments on Friday to ensure that everyone has access to the right thing.
In an annual reflection on the needs of sick people, he urged health care institutions and government leaders not to neglect social justice because of concerns about financial concerns.
The Pope lamented in his written statement that many in the world do not have access to medical care because they live in poverty. He advocated solidarity to ensure that everyone receives the medical care they need to stay healthy and recover from disease.
Francis also described as tragic that medical personnel and facilities have been attacked during wars and violent conflicts. He also reported that political authorities try to manipulate medical care for their own benefit in some places, but did not cite specific situations.
