Deepika Padukone in '83': I would love to make more realistic movies with Ranveer Singh

Actor Deepika Padukone will meet with her frequent co-star and husband Ranveer singh for the sports drama '83' and said it was a 'refreshing' change for the couple who had previously collaborated on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's feature films.

The 33-year-old star will play Romi Dev, wife of cricket legend Kapil Dev , to be played by Ranveer.

Directed by Kabir Khan, '83' will narrate India's victory under the Kapil captaincy, when the team defeated the West Indies in the final to take their first World Cup trophy in 1983.

Deepika, in the past, has worked with Ranveer on films larger than life like ' Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela ',' Bajirao Mastani 'and' Padmaavat '.

It was nice working with Ranveer in a slightly more realistic environment. Not having to pronounce such an intense dialogue with that kind of language as we did in three movies. It was refreshing. In fact, we had to remind ourselves that 'this is the same actor I have worked with'.

The characters are completely different, the era is completely different. The costumes, the scenarios are very, very different and even refreshing. We both looked at each other and said, Wow, we should do things like this more often together, he said in a telephone interview from Mumbai.

The actor revealed that he does not have many scenes in '83' and took the project as the role gave him the opportunity to explore the personal side of public figures such as Kapil and Romi Dev.

The reason I wanted to do this film is because I've seen what an important support system my mother has been in my father's life as an athlete and her contribution to his success. I saw many similarities when it came to Romi and Kapil Dev .

While '83' is really the three-week trip from the moment they left India to the moment they won the World Cup, there are also smaller moments on their personal side of their personality that I thought was very exciting, said Deepika, daughter of former Indian badminton player Prakash Padukone and housewife Ujjala Padukone, he added.

The actor will start working on a romantic thriller, directed by Shakun Batra. A Dharma Productions project, the film will also star Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday.

There will be another actor. Basically these are two couples and the black domestic gender is gender. We started filming in March, Deepika added.

She is also prepared to play the central role of Draupadi in a retelling of Mahabharata's epic story from the female perspective.

Deepika said that, when it comes to Mahabharata, the audience has always been fed with a one-dimensional point of view.

There is a lot of emotion within the audience when watching this movie, since it is not a story we are very familiar with ...

I think we have always had a certain perspective on Mahabharata and it would be interesting for us to see a different perspective. The same narrative, a different perspective, said the actor, who will co-produce the film with Madhu Mantena. .

The actor looks forward to the release of 'Chhapaak', which also marks his debut in production. The film directed by Meghna Gulzar will arrive on the screens on January 10.
