Government will not give a centimeter to the decision to implement CAA: Amit Shah
JODHPUR: Minister of the Interior of the Union Amit Shah on Friday he said the government will not give up an inch in its decision to implement it despite criticism from opposition to the law.
By launching an awareness program in support of the amended citizenship law, Shah accused the other opposition parties of carrying out a disinformation campaign.
He said that the amended law does not take away Indian citizenship from anyone, but instead grants him citizenship.
Opposition parties have criticized the amendment that allows non-Muslims an easier path to citizenship if they have come to India from three neighboring countries before 2015 after facing religious persecution.
Shah accused Congress of playing the politics of voting banks by spreading misinformation.
