RBI announces a special OMO of Rs 10,000 million on January 6

MUMBAI: The Reserve Bank will have a special simultaneous Monday open market operation buy and sell government bonds of Rs 10,000 crore each.

In a review of the current liquidity and the market situation and an evaluation of the evolution of the financial conditions, the Reserve Bank decided to carry out the simultaneous purchase and sale of government securities in Open Market Operations (OMO) for 10,000 Rs million each on January 6, 2020, the RBI He said in a statement.

RBI said it reserves the right to decide on the quantum of purchase/sale of individual securities; accept bids/offers for less than the aggregate amount as well as purchase/sell marginally higher than the aggregate amount due to rounding-off effects.

You can also accept or reject any or all offers/offers, either totally or partially, without assigning any reason.

Eligible participants must submit their offers/offers electronically in the Reserve Bank of India Core Banking Solution (E-Kuber) system between 10.30 a.m. and 12.00 noon on January 6, 2020, RBI said.
