New Delhi, January 2 () The National Cricket Academy, which has often been criticized for treating player injuries, is prepared to get the help of a BCCI medical panel and a dedicated social media department such as part of your general renewal plan.

The need for a medical panel was discussed at the recent NCA meeting attended by all bearers of BCCI officers, including President Sourav Ganguly and NCA cricket chief Rahul Dravid.

The development comes after criticism that the NCA caused by the handling of injuries of the main players in India, including Wriddhiman Saha and, more recently, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

The multi-faceted Hardik Pandya and premium runner Jasprit Bumrah joined the problems of the NCA by choosing personal rehabilitation instead of recovering in Bangalore.

BCCI will consult a London-based clinic, Fortius, to establish its medical panel, a senior BCCI official said.

The head of fast bowling, a position that has been vacant for a long time, will also be filled soon.

That person will be in charge of establishing a fast bowling program at the NCA. The board will also hire a head of nutrition for the Bengaluru-based facilities.

As the NCA has been mainly in the news during all the wrong seasons and there is no official communication coming out of it.

A social media manager will join to provide regular updates on the events within the facilities. The movement could also go a long way to repair NCA's reputation, the Board official added.

The NCA was unable to detect Bhuvneshwar's sports hernia and was also criticized when it came to light that Bumrah and Hardik were receiving outside help for recovery instead of relying on NCA staff.

In the future, Ganguly has already made it clear that NCA will be the main center for cricket development programs in the country and all Indian players will have to go to Bengaulru for rehabilitation.

He also expects the new NCA facility to be ready in 18 months.

The other recruitment, which will be done soon, is the head of data analysis.

The NCA will also conduct Level 2 and Level 3 training courses at its facilities with state associations that will pay their coaches bill, respectively.

Coach development consultants will also be hired based on the requirements. Maximum caution will be taken when issuing medical updates about Indian players with the verification of the information made by the team management and the NCA. BS PM PM
