Ban on telecommunications networks in Bangladesh along the border with India
DHAKA Bangladesh Authorities have lifted the ban on telecommunications networks along the country's borders with India that affected some 10 million users after it was imposed earlier this week for security reasons.
Jahurul Haque, president of (BTRC), confirmed on Wednesday the latest decision to reverse the restrictions, reports bdnews24.
On Monday, the four telecommunications operators, Robi, closed around 2,000 base stations of transceivers after the BTRC issued a warning about the ban on Sunday.
The BTRC had said that the measure was for the sake of the country's security in the current circumstances.
The decision was made by the government after a high-level meeting.
