Panchal wants to continue scoring races to stay in India

Kolkata, January 1 () Fully aware that there are no vacancies for him in the current testing team in India, promising that Gujarat's first-order hitter, Priyank Panchal, wants to continue scoring runs consistently to remain on the hunt.

India's batting lineup is ranked with Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal at the top while there are props on Shubman Gill and Prithvi Shaw as Panchal, despite scoring a lot in the national red-ball cricket, he has no choice but to wait.

I am glad to be part of that discussion. For me, scoring consistently is more important. I'm focusing only on that, said the 29-year-old at Eden Gardens before his Ranji Trophy match against Bengal starting Friday.

Panchal's next assignment is for India's first four-day game 'A' in New Zealand from January 30 to February 2.

He had a great season in 2016-17 when he scored 1310 runs, 106 runs away from breaking the VVS Laxman season record.

The captain of Panchal and Bengal, Abhimanyu Easwaran, is fighting for the same place and have been regular customers of India. We (Easwaran and I) have reached this stage due to performance. For me, performance is the most important and winning for the team is also important. We respect each other and have played together for a long time, Panchal concluded. TAP SSC SSC
