'Dashak Maharashtrache' celebrations light up Gateway of India
It was an elegant celebration that saw one of the most popular landmarks lit with fun and fervor in New Year Eve . The government of Maharashtra marked the beginning of the new decade with great celebrations in the state capitals and in Mumbai it took place in Gateway of India . Hosted by Maharashtra Tourism and Government of Maharashtra under the patronage of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray , the objective was to mark the success of the development of the State. He also intended to put Mumbai on the global map as the destination of one of the biggest New Year celebrations annually.
Fireworks and laser to welcome 2020
On New Year’s Eve, Mumbaikars who headed to the Gateway of India witnessed beautiful fireworks, lasers, cultural performances and a son-et-lumiere extravaganza. There were also several curated cultural performances that showcased the state’s festivals, music and folk dances . The location played the video recorded message of the CM across large screens at midnight. Chief Minister of Maharashtra , Shri Uddhav Thackeray said, “We are glad to celebrate the New Year with the people of Maharashtra and on this special occasion, we promise a new decade of hope, peace and prosperity in the State. We are committed to making significant strides in further developing the state in this decade and continue to work for the welfare of the common people.”
