The victim of the natural disaster of Kedarnath met with his family
GOPESHWAR: An elderly worker who had disappeared in the 2013 natural disaster met with his family on Wednesday, police said. Chamoli SP Yashwant Singh Chauhan said that Jamil Ahmed Ansari belonged to the state and that he was working in Lambagad when the tragedy occurred.
He lost contact with his family after the natural disaster due to the partial loss of memory, the SP said, adding that Ansari met with his relatives below.
The SP said that Ansari lived for six years in a nursing home in Gopeshwar since he could not say his name and address correctly.
Later, when he began to recover his memory, he told authorities that he had come to Joshimath from Sitarganj in search of work in 2009 and that he was working as a worker in Lambagad in 2013 when the tragedy occurred.
Police launched efforts to track his family, the SP said.
His family was tracked with the help of social networks.
Ansari has a wife, two daughters and two sons, the SP said.
