Hyundai Motor sales fell almost 10% to 50,135 units in December
NEW DELHI: Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) reported on Wednesday a 9.9 percent decrease in total sales in December to 50,135 units compared to 55,638 units in the same month last year.
The company said its national sales were 37,953 units in December 2019 compared to 42,093 units in the same month of the previous year, 9.8 percent less.
Exports during the month also decreased 10.06 percent to 12,182 units compared to 13,545 units in December 2018, it said in a statement.
Total sales in 2019 fell 2.6 percent to 6.91,460 units compared to 710,012 units in 2018.
Domestic sales last year were 510,260 units compared to 550,002 units in 2018, a 7.2 percent decrease, he added.
However, exports in 2019 increased 13.2 percent to 181,200 units compared to 160,010 units in 2018, the company said.
Commenting on the sales performance, HMIL Director Sales, Marketing and Service Tarung Garg said, The Year 2019 has been a challenging year for the Indian automotive industry. Even in such adverse conditions, Hyundai Motor India as committed has launched 4 new benchmark products in different segments.
He also said: As we prepare for a significant year in 2020, we will offer BS-VI in gasoline and diesel engines in different models of our product portfolio.
