A recent report reveals how India got married in 2019

The largest wedding company in India launched the first edition of Weddingz.in Wows Report 2019, a snapshot of how India got married this year. The data collected between January 1, 2019 and December 26, 2019 reveal that between destination weddings, Goa topped the lists as the most sought after place, followed by other tourist spots such as Udaipur, Jaipur, Jim Corbett, Agra, Igatpuri and Lonavala.

Another interesting finding revealed that Delhi and Mumbai saw the maximum number of weddings in 2019. However, the industry noted a large gap in the type of events preferred by both metropolitan cities. On the one hand, the inhabitants of Delhi preferred a great adventure with luxurious outdoor celebrations on a farm or garden, which includes elaborate rituals, decoration and food options. On the other hand, Mumbai chose to organize wedding functions in simpler and more elegant interiors, with an inclination towards banquet halls.

Sharing his ideas on wedding trends observed in 2019, Sandeep Lodha, CEO of Weddingz.in said: “This year has been extremely fruitful for the Indian wedding industry. We have observed that today's couples demand a wide range of services to choose from, opt for an amalgam of traditional and contemporary offers and adopt new concepts. This opens a great opportunity for the industry. With regard to 2020, we will continue to maintain the delight and satisfaction of the consumer at the heart of everything we do. We will focus on expanding our services, offering an omnichannel experience for customers and expanding our presence in the newest cities in India.
