CBI arrests DRI ADG in case of bribery of Rs 25 lakh
NEW DELHI: On Wednesday, an additional general director (ADG) of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Chander Shekhar and an intermediary were arrested in connection with the Rs 25 lakh bribery case, authorities said.
The searches continue in New Delhi, Noida and Ludhiana, they said.
According to the DRI website, Chander Shekhar is published as ADG, Ludhiana.
The agency had arrested the intermediary while allegedly receiving the bribe on behalf of the officer, they said.
During the interrogation, the intermediary told detectives that the bribe was supposedly for the officer, they said.
The agency suspects that it is part of the payment of a large bribe that was discussed between the two, they said.
