With different Peak Cap and badges, Gen Bipin Rawat makes its debut as India's first CDS

NEW DELHI: The general made his public appearance as India's first chief of defense staff () on Wednesday, wearing the parent service uniform, although with a distinctive Peak Cap and Shoulder Rank different in his new position.

On his first day as a CDS, General Rawat paid tribute to the National War Memorial in the heart of New Delhi, nearby. He also received an honor guard.

Also present on the occasion were Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, the Chief of the Karambir Singh Navy and the Chief of the Army, who succeeded General Rawat as Chief of the Army General Staff.
