Thermax Limited packages Rs 431-cr to configure FGD systems
Pune: Thermax Limited has pocketed an order of Rs431 crore from a public-private joint venture power company to establish two flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems at its thermal power plant in Jharkhand, implying that the standards Industrial pollution in the country are being simplified.
At the close of the negotiation, the company's shares ended approximately 2.5% more compared to the previous day of the Bombay Stock Exchange.
This was the second such request for the Pune-based company within six months, after it pocketed an Rs471 rupee order from a state power company in July 2019.
“The environmental business has performed well in terms of receiving orders, and I am happy that we have concluded the year on a high note with this inclusion. It also shows that the implementation of industrial pollution standards has gained momentum in the country, considering that we packed two large FGD orders in the short span of six months, ”said M S Unnikrishnan, MD and CEO of Thermax Limited.
The company said the scope of supply includes design, engineering, manufacturing, civil works, construction and commissioning of FGD systems. The implementation of the project is planned for more than 30 months.
