Expect up to 10% growth in sales, deployment of BS-VI bicycles since January: Triumph India

New Delhi, December 15 () British premium bike manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles expects sales in India to grow between 5 and 10 percent in the 12-month period ending in June 2020 thanks to the new products, which They are expected to compensate for low consumption in the first half of the year, according to a senior company official.

The company, which continues the financial year from July to June, plans to bring two more new products between January and June 2020 to add to its recently introduced Rocket 3R flagship model with a price of Rs 18 lakh.

It is also preparing to launch bicycles compatible with BS-VI from January and have its full range under the new emission standards for March.

We are seeing a decent growth of 9-10 percent in September-November compared to the same period last year. This is a positive sign after a weak July-August, said Triumph Motorcycles India general manager Shoeb Farooq.

He said the company is looking for 5-10 percent growth in December.

If this continues, we are looking to cross 1,000 motorcycles for the current fiscal year (July-June), which will represent an increase of around 5-10 percent during the last financial year, Farooq said, adding most of the BS-IV a The BS-VI transition would be managed between January and February.

Then, starting in March, he added: We will enter the BS-VI portfolio. So, during the full four months with new BS-VI products, I think we should be able to cover some volumes in the last three or four months.

For Triumph, he said, The first half of the year was difficult since we didn't have new products and all the new products for us will arrive in the second half.

Recently, the company introduced its 2,500 cc flagship bike, Rocket 3R, which will hit the market in January.

In stating that two more products will be launched between January and June, he said those products are also commercially very important and contribute to almost 45 percent of the company's volume.

So, with those two new products, Rocket 3R is present and BS-IV also provides the opportunity to increase our retail business, all these things are coming together and it should be a good second half, Farooq said.

In Rocket 3R, he said: In a good year we should end up making 75-100 units, and for that type of product it is not really small. Overall, the industry has gone through a rather difficult phase that began in August last year and so far the market remains weak overall in all brands, Farooq said. RKL ANU
