Dwayne Johnson: Kevin Hart has a different energy after the accident
Things change when you wear a silk shirt. Call me Kevin Escobar , man! When Kevin Hart Has been talking to Dwayne johnson So in Mexico, you don't try to mess with him. Even more so when you reach both of them and you realize that he is wearing, what else, a silk shirt.
Easy jokes reflect the link between the two. Hoping that it generates some politically incorrect answers, one asks Kevin what would appear on a digital screen if he could summon one to list the strengths and weaknesses of The Rock, as is the case with the avatars of all the characters in the ' Jumanji 'movies. Kevin’s first cut response that shows he is still in Escobar mode: “His weakness? He doesn’t look good in silk. Looks stupid! Can’t pull these kind of shirts off, you know, ‘cause he don’t have what I have. Cause I am cool. ”Pausing to stop laughing, he resumes with a“ And strengths? The ability to grow hair only around the sides, coz he don’t want it at the top. ”
This is a choice! Dwayne responds amid hysterical laughter that limits his ability to counter consistently. Is it my turn now? He asks, and then returns the favor. “Then, when I press the button on it, boom! Let's see. Weakness: does not have the ability to do this (flexes your pectoral muscles) . Another weakness, sounding a bit risque, lacks the ability to grow the testicles, if you know what I mean.
Kevin: It's confidential information, man!
Dwayne: I know, I had to share!
One moves quickly to a safer territory before any additional information enters the unprintable space.
The accident changed my perspective on life: Kevin
Three months ago, Kevin suffered a major car accident, after which he had to undergo emergency back surgery and spent more than two months recovering. After his recovery, Kevin has spoken again and again about how the accident changed his perspective on life. Kevin 2.0 is someone who sees things differently, like an avatar in a sequel, does his personality have slightly different strengths and weaknesses now? Yes, he is emphatic.
“I have a different perspective, a different level of appreciation and understanding of life. Not that I didn't do it before, but now it's more vivid and clear. It's like in HD. Before, the image could have been a bit cloudy. It is clear as the day now. I appreciate life with those around me that are very important.
Ask Dwayne if he has seen any changes in Kevin that reflect this evolved, distinctly non- Escobar -ish tone, and he disengages from the ribbing. “Yes, subtle. Like he wasn’t in a crazy place that he needed a change. He was living his life - quite a remarkable life - and this accident happened. And when accidents happen, especially as traumatic as this one was, which could have gone in another direction - thank God it didn’t - I have noticed a different energy. There is a calm in his spirit, when I saw him a couple of months ago as he was recovering. Again, there are very subtle changes, coz it’s not like an intervention had to happen with my friend. He was living a great life, the accident happened, and on the other side of the accident, there is an even deeper appreciation for the great life he has. ”
Dwayne has worked with Priyanka on ' Baywatch ' and with Nick Jonas in both the first 'Jumanji' as well as the current sequel. He is also known to have, half in jest, said that he had set them up. Remind him that it’s been a year since they married, and he is quick to send “a lot of love” to “ my friend Priyanka - while looking at Kevin - and my friend Nick Jonas ”- while giving him another look. The banter never stops.
The same avatars, new roles.
'Jumanji: The Next Level' will see Dwayne and Kevin back in the magical world of Jumanji as the avatars Dr Smolder Bravestone and Mouse Finbar. But this time, instead of teenagers, these avatars are being inhabited by a pair of estranged, bickering friends, Eddie (played by Danny DeVito ) and Milo (played by Danny Glover ) And the jokes off the screen of Dwayne and Kevin will continue on the screen.
The juxtaposition of Bravestone’s heroic abilities and Dwayne’s physicality inhabited by Eddie, a cantankerous elderly man recovering from hip surgery, results in a slew of comedic moments. Especially hilarious is seeing Bravestone inhabited by an irritable old guy. “Capturing the essence and nuances of Danny DeVito was the best time as an actor. I had a chance to study him, going back and watching a lot of his old movies and TV shows, all the way back to Taxi. His work is just so brilliant, ”says Dwayne, adding,“ There’s just a wit and a way about him. I was able to spend time with Danny and embody him as best I could. And he was very gracious. It was a blast becoming Danny DeVito. ”
On the other hand, Kevin’s trademark rapid-fire style of comedic delivery has been replaced by the meandering, lackadaisical narrative style of Milo, resulting in major laughs as he embodies Glover’s mannerisms and speech cadence. “You see Mouse Finbar take on the person of an older gentleman, with me being Danny Glover. The older version of Danny Glover in movies just makes me laugh because he’s so calm. Everything he says is just happy. I thought that could be a very funny place to play with. Like that older man that’s a little more at ease, because I’m very ‘Aahhh!’ All the time, ”says Kevin.
To which Dwayne adds, “When people see Kevin crush his embodying Danny Glover, they are gonna love it. They are really gonna love it and its really cool. Those who have already seen the movie, there have been early responses that people have really loved Kevin and I am so happy for him. Everybody shines in the movie. ”
Many times, when you are promoting and promoting a movie, there are things you have to say, but in this case there are things we want to say. We want people to come to the theater because it's a movie to feel good and it's for families, for friends. You can come and share and join the environment that will be full of positivity with a great message, Kevin shares, I think that's the important thing for everything you do. You want to have a message that people can take when they leave the theater. When you have a family action adventure movie, we would love to have a message that brings people closer.
