Akshay Kumar reveals that he has applied for the Indian passport; fans comment: 'RIP haters', 'We love you, passport ki jarurat nahi hai'

Akshay Kumar who is known to appear in patriotic and socially relevant cinema is often the target of his Canadian citizenship. The actor has always expressed that it hurts when people ask him to prove his love for his homeland. The actor has contributed to the country, but again and again he is criticized for having Canadian citizenship but earning money in India.

However, recently, the actor revealed that he has applied for an Indian passport. Soon, his fans made comments for the actor and declared that they love him no matter what, with or without the Indian passport.

Some of them also commented that now Akshay's enemies have nothing to say against him.

In May, he had also tweeted about speculation about his citizenship. In one post, he wrote: I really do not understand unjustified interest and negativity about my citizenship. I have never hidden or denied that I have a Canadian passport . It is also equally true that I have not visited Canada in the last seven years

While during all these years, I have never needed to show my love for India to anyone, I find it disappointing that my citizenship problem is constantly dragged into an unnecessary controversy, a personal, legal, non-political issue and without consequences to others. I would like to continue contributing in a small way to the causes in which I believe and make India stronger and stronger.
