Jharkhand HC rejects Lalu Prasad's bail statement

RANCHI: In a setback for supreme RJD, on Friday he rejected the request for release on jail bail Lalu Prasad in a case of fodder scam.

Judge Apresh Kumar Singh rejected Lalu The bail request alleging that he has not completed half of the prison sentence. Lalu Prasad had requested bail in connection with the fraudulent withdrawal of the Dumka treasure case in which he has been granted two prison sentences of seven consecutive years.

Lalu Prasad has been convicted in four cases of billionaire fodder scam so far.

However, he was granted bail in one of four cases of fraudulent withdrawal from the treasury in which he was granted three and a half years in jail.

He sought bail in the second case of fodder scam in which he is a convict, but was dismissed by the court. Lalu Prasad had sought bail for medical reasons.

He is currently being treated in the payment room of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi for several ailments.

The Rs 900 crore fodder scam had taken place in the United States Department of Livestock when Lalu Prasad was the prime minister.
