Yediyurappa supports police action at Hyderabad meeting

BENGALURU: Prime Minister BS Yediyurappa backed Telangana's police action on Friday that killed four accused of rape and murder of a veterinarian near Hyderabad, saying they acted in self-defense.

They (defendants) tried to attack and escape when they were taken to the scene (of the crime), so the meeting was inevitable to save their (police) lives, he told reporters here.

According to Cyberabad police, the four, arrested in connection with the brutal incident, were shot dead after attacking staff and attempting to escape when they were taken to the scene for the reconstruction of the crime early Friday.
