Mumbai: newborn girl expelled from the 17th floor, dies

MUMBAI: A was found dead Thursday at a housing society complex in Kandivli (West).

Preliminary investigations have shown that one on the 17th floor had received a home birth and was likely to be the mother of the deceased baby. When they found the body in the bathroom duct area, police suspect that the newborn could have been thrown out the bathroom window.

“Around 3.30 pm, we received a message from the main control room about a newborn found dead in an SRA society in Abhilakh Nagar. Our officer ran to the society and found the baby lying in the conduit of wing B. The doctors at Shatabdi Hospital confirmed the death of the baby at 4.50 p.m. ”Said a police officer. Kandivli police recorded an entry for accidental death and began questioning residents.

Officers learned that he was a resident of the 17th floor. When visiting his apartment, they discovered that he had had a home birth. “The woman is a housewife. She has two older children, a boy and a girl, and had given birth to her third child on Thursday. We are doing and we have not arrested anyone so far, ”said the officer.
