Discover all about the life of MF Husain through a play
Ranji David's last theatrical mega was based on the life of the legendary painter Amrita Sher-Gil . Months later, the theater's creator is ready to turn the stage into a canvas again, while focusing attention on one of India's most celebrated and controversial painters: Maqbool Fida Husain. “His life and circumstances are too vast to fit within an hour on stage. However, after almost four months of research, we have managed to focus on some of the lesser known aspects, says Ranji. An organization Theater production, M. F. Husain It will premiere this weekend at ADA Rangamandira. It is a theatrical production devised by 40 actors that explores the internal psyche of the art master, whose curious mind was always looking for something new and challenging. “Two actors, Varun Singh and Varun C, rehearse the young and old stages of their life. Also, because he was known for being a man of few words, his character in the play has no dialogue. The narrative, on the other hand, relies heavily on the symbolism that will guide the audience through a journey of self-discovery, passion, romance and artistic expressions of a painter who refused to follow the norms established by society, explains the director . The other cast members include Sudeendran Nair, Bhavanishankar, Sowmya Raghavan, Snigdha Kundu and Myna Bisineer.
The narrative also has elements of Kathak, while the music is made by Megha and Maha, and the lights by Ravichandra. As part of his research, Ranji had spoken with acclaimed artist Gurudas Shenoy and was also inspired by the biography of the legendary painter of Ila Pal.
