The Jawaharlal Nehru University Student Union will boycott the exams

NEW DELHI: Following protests against the increase in tuition and hostel fees, (JNUSU) has decided to boycott all academic activities, including exams.

A resolution distributed among the students by the JNUSU establishes that the general meeting of the university body (UGBM) has resolved to continue the fight against the administration manual between rooms (IHA) boycotting all academic activities, including exams.

The UGBM resolves to identify a massive 36-day struggle against the IHA manual through total non-cooperation with the JNU administration and complete academic closure, including the boycott of each and every academic activity such as presentation, exam and Synopsis presentation, it reads.

The resolution has asked to reject the orders mentioned in the manual, such as the increase in rates, the dress code, the fines and the entry and exit times, labeling them as 'draconian measures'.

The JNUSU has also urged the ministry of human resources development to eliminate the vice chancellor and accuse him of destroying the spirit of JNU and his lack of competence to deal with the issue of the acute crisis at the university.

JNU students had organized mass protests in November against the rate increase.
