MG ZS EV presented in India, launch in January 2020
NEW DELHI: Morris Garages unveiled the ZS EV electric SUV here Thursday. The car is expected to launch in January 2020.
After the successful race with the SUV connected, Héctor, the leading British automaker presented its first electric car in India. The bold stance of ZS EV and the distinctive features of its style make it a point of attraction.
MG Elec 2
The darkened, boat-shaped front grille, which also berths the loading port, is surrounded by a chrome strip. The hood folds add aesthetic appeal to the silhouette, while the DRL LED headlight group has an elegant profile. A silver accent has been placed around the front bumper with a protective plate that completes the front fascia.
MG Elec 3
The extension of the black bumper crosses the side profile. However, smaller than the Hector, EZ EV takes multiple cosmetic indications, from the inside out. Dual tone ORVM with turn signals, 17-inch alloys, silver railings and plastic lining in the lower half of the SUV, black window line, with a silver band that ends to form an angular element in the C-pillar.
MG has kept the rear orderly and simple, removing the LED strip from the tailgate. A massive black bumper, a silver diffuser and split taillights make up the bulk of the rear.
MG Elec 4
The interiors of the SUV of less than 4.5 meters are loaded with features with a brand of premium features. The 5-seater EZ EV has spacious contours, with MG Motors India claiming that the SUV is the largest in its segment. Notable features within the built-in black-gray include a massive sunroof and a PM2.5 air filter.
MG Elec 5
The black seats are rolled with padded fabric with a mixture of hard and soft touch material that is used around the instrument cluster. Multiple storage spaces in the form of double cup holders, glove box, jumbo tray, shovel under the instrument console are available. The car is equipped with the iSmart EV 2.0 application that offers a large number of connected functions.
Battery and performance:
The MG EZ EV will be powered by a 44.5 kWh battery pack, which provides a claimed range of 340 kilometers/full charge. The IP67 engine offers 143 PS of power and the electric SUV can touch 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds, the company says. MG Motors has partnered with Delta and Fortum India to load installation stations. The company claims that a 7.4kW AC charger can fully charge the battery in 6-8 hours, while the 50kW DC charger can charge 80% in less than an hour.
MG Motors India will initially launch the electric SUV in five cities: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. The car will compete against Hyundai Kona. The SUV is likely to have a price of around Rs 20-25 lakh (ex-showroom).
