If a student claimed to be a 'native rock star', another announced that he was 'made for music' on stage ... such was the level of enthusiasm in the first round of auditions of season 12 of Everyuth Bombay Times Fresh Face Held at St. Andrew's College of Arts, Science and Commerce, the event that has gained popularity over the years among students for its originality in university competitions. He witnessed a large number of students who appeared in funky ensembles to exhibit their creative pieces.
Bollywood actress and musician Sophie Choudry was the famous guest for auditions. Speaking of his long association with this coveted national contest, Sophie said: “I've been at the Fresh Face auditions in the past as a judge as well, and the best part of this intra-university event is that it gets bigger and better every year. St. Andrew's students were so talented and self-confident because of the way they performed in the first round that I realized they are going to places in life.
The participants had to go through three levels: a presentation round, a talent round and a question and answer session. In addition to the selection process for the semifinals, whose winners will compete for the regional title and then fight in the national final, Everyuth also held a special sub-contest called ‘Mr. Happy Skin and Miss Happy Skin. The winners of these San Andres titles were Maxito Joho and Sonia Menezes, respectively.
Maxito said: “I had an amazing time participating in the auditions. This was a special opportunity, since I was able to show my talent to the judges and my friends at the university; it served as a good confidence booster. ”
