All records and files associated with declassified Netaji: Government
NEW DELHI: The government declassified all records and files associated with Netaji and made them available to the National Archives of India, said Minister of Culture Prahlad Patel. Lok Sabha in response to a question from BJP MP.
Patel said the government had declassified 304 files related to Bose and Azad Hind Fauj, and that 303 were already uploaded to the Netaji website, www.netajipapers.gov.in. The minister also said that the National Archives of India were the custodians of all declassified archives and records of the Indian government.
The corpus of material in Netaji is added to the material that the National Archives had received in 1997, in which 990 declassified files belonging to the Azad Hind Fauj of the defense ministry were delivered. A second batch of material was declassified in 2012, containing 1,030 files belonging to the Khosla Commission and the Mukherjee Research Commission of Justice of the Ministry of Interior.
