Tata Motors packs orders for more than 2,300 buses from several STUs

New Delhi, December 2 () Tata Motors said Monday that it has packaged an order for more than 2,300 buses from several state transportation companies (STUs) and is working to complete their deliveries in February next year.

The orders are from STU of Rajasthan, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, Tata Motors said in a statement.

Commenting on the orders, Rohit Srivastava, Head of the Tata Motors (Bus) product line, said: With the government's continued drive to provide intelligent, safe and convenient public transportation alternatives, at Tata Motors we recognize the proactive approach of Several STUs to maintain a sustainable mass transit system.

With an order for more than 2,300 buses from Tata Motors, he said: We look forward to a continuous partnership with all STUs, in their effort to strengthen the public transportation system in their respective cities.

The company, however, did not share the breakdown of orders.

Tata Motors currently designs, develops and manufactures its buses in Pune, Dharwad, Pantnagar and Lucknow. With a broad portfolio of products from future prepared buses, the company said it will continue to play an active role in mass public transport, with the commitment to strike the right balance between sustainable growth and profitability.
