Pragya Thakur's complaint against Rahul Gandhi can be sent to the privilege committee: Sources

NEW DELHI: The Lok sabha He can send the BJP MP complaint against the leader of Congress Rahul Gandhi for calling the Chamber's privilege committee a terrorist, sources said Monday.

Calling a terrorist parliamentarian without any legal conviction is a serious matter that should require deliberation in the committee, they said.

Thakur had moved a breach of privilege notice against Gandhi last week following the former Congress president's attack on her after she kicked up a huge row by praising in Lok sabha .

She was forced to apologize in Parliament.

Thakur, however, moved against Gandhi, saying there is no conviction against her and that the congressional leader had violated her privilege as a deputy by calling her a terrorist.

Thakur is charged in the case of Malegaon explosions. He has been discharged in some sections, but remains on trial for other charges.

If the President actually sends the matter to the committee, then Gandhi can be called to present his version of the story before he reaches a decision.
