The incident occurred on Saturday night when the marriage procession of Dharmendra He was being taken out in the village of Bhadwas, Rajeev Uieke, in charge of the Badod police station, told reporters.

Around 20 armed members of the Rajput community allegedly stopped the procession and pushed Dharmendra off the horse, he said adding the upper caste members were objecting to the OBC groom mounting a horse in the procession.

The two groups clashed and two relatives of Dharmendra were injured in the attack, Uieke said.

Police recorded cases against 20 people and arrested Bahadur Singh, Juwan Singh, Laxman Singh and Gokul Singh. They tried to track the rest of the defendants.

The marriage procession was carried out later in the presence of the police.
