UGC has prepared directives to regulate the fees charged by private universities: Minister of Human Resources
NEW DELHI: It has prepared a set of directives to regulate the fees charged by, including the capitation fee, and is looking for suggestions on its website of all interested parties, said Union HRD Minister Nishank on Monday .
Nishank was answering a question in Lok sabha .
He was asked if the University Grants Commission is considering introducing regulations to curb the practice of charging a capitation fee.
In response to this, the minister said that the Commission has prepared the UGC Regulation (Professional education fees provided by private institutions with and without assistance considered universities), 2019.
These regulations are being placed on the UGC website to request comments from all interested parties. A final decision will be made after receiving comments from them, he said.
